N.A.G.S. FAMILY GROUP SHEET©
HELPFUL HINTS
A
Family Group Sheet is one of the most useful tools any genealogist
can have. A Family Group Sheet
helps
you to list and organize the information you know
about an individual and pinpoint the sources of
the
information you have. It also shows you what you need to know
to search for your roots.
DO NOT become frustrated
if suddenly you realize not much is known about the individual
and the form
looks
empty. The NAGS Family Group Sheet © is
your Roadmap to Family Discovery. Using this
group
sheet provides both an information sheet when requesting research
from N.A.G.S. and your
personal
information organization record to keep your research organized,
detailed, and sourced with all
needed
information and facts on one page.
When submitting a Request for Research from
the N.A.G.S., using the following guidelines will result
in
gaining the most information from your research
request.
can be listed which is very
helpful when researching census records.
Please
include any dates, known locations, public records, or anything
else you have that can
eliminate
double-checking known facts. It is perfectly all right if you
do not have any information at
all
other than the name and date range the individual was in the 4-county
area. We want to add to
your
records, not double-check your information unless you want us
to verify what you have.
