CAULEY, DRAKE, PARKER, STRICKLAND, TURBERVILLE - I am seeking information on Bartholomew CAULEY, my gggrandfather, who moved from Covington Co., AL to Ouachita, Arkansas around 1857. Winneford, Winey, who married a STRICKLAND, Hepasbeth who married a DRAKE, Nancy who married J. J. TURBERVILLE, and Elizabeth Ann who married a PARKER. HICKMAN, MCCOWN, WAKEFIELD posted by Alice Lynne Boydstun on Friday, August 8, 1997

We have information from a Family Bible listing the children of John and Mary/Polly HICKMAN and their birthdates. We have learned that at least three of their children moved from Lowndes Co., MS and/or Fayette Co., AL to Ouachita Co., AR and raised their families. Their names were William HICKMAN and Thirza/Thurza/Thersy McCOWN whose children Isaac Newton, Lycurgus P., and William Green were born in Lafayette Twp. Leroy, Caswell, Emily, and Eugene Lavert died in Ouachita Co. In all William and Thirza had 16 children. William's younger brother, James HICKMAN married Bethana. They had 11children that I know of. At least two Emaline and John Cary were born in Ouachita Co. The youngest brother John Brona HICKMAN married Daphney Y. WAKEFIELD on 5 Sep 1844 in Camden, Ouachita, AR. Both of them are buried in the Old Union Cemetery. All their children have a Ouachita connection: Caswell, Justina, James, Garland, Laura Ann, Mary Jane, Harriet Elizabeth, Charles Bradley, John, Lee Coan, and George Edward. We would be happy to share this infomration.
