GREENING posted by Judy Baugh on Tuesday, February 10, 1998

I would like to establish the parentage of E.S. GREENING (probably Eldridge Swepson) and O.A. GREENING (probably Orlando) who served in CSA units from Camden. I believe they are nephews of my ancestor, John James GREENING, of DeSoto Par., LA, but am not sure which one of his brothers was their father. He may have been J.J. GREENING's brother Wade Horace GREENING, who died in the early 1850's in DeSoto Par. LA. Have much information on this family that I am willing to share.

I am looking for Cebron/Seabron HAYES/HAYS who I found in the 1910 Census records for Ouachita County. He is a black man and he was married to a woman named Amanda who had several children before they were married. All of the children were supposedly by a white master, Moses STERN, but they all carried the HAYES/HAYS name. The HAYES/HAYS children were Henry, James, Mamie/Mary, Daniel and Will/William. If any one has information on these family members I would appreciate it. ghbanes

EVANS posted by John L. Evans on Thursday, February 26, 1998

James Lambuth EVANS was a Methodist minister at Smackover, AR, in Union Co. I found no records of him there, so he may have lived in Ouachita Co. Also, he changed over to the Baptist Denomination sometime after 1930. He was in the area at that time. I'm hoping that some of his family is still around.
