I am researching the surname OSGATHARP in Phillips Co. My 3rd Great grandfather John OSGATHARP had an older brother named Richard who went to AR. My research had found that Richard and his wife and sons had all died of some disease...but I have found info in an LDS Ancestral File that there was a Sally OSGATHARP who married Benj. PORTER lived in Phillips Co. I tried to email the person on the surname page researching PORTER and the address did not work. Roseamond CRAWLEY, or anyone connected with the OSGATHARP name, please contact me!

Joseph HOOVER is my great grandfather who served in the Civil War from 1862 to 1865. His Civil War record shows he mustered out of service on June 16, 1865 at Helena, Arkansas. His home was in Grayville, Illinois (White County). Sometime after leaving military service in 1865, he married a woman by the name of Mary Elizabeth PHILLIPS (her maiden name was either DONAL or DANELL) not sure of the spelling. It may be possible that Joseph met and married Mary in Helena, Arkansas. This marriage took place sometime between 1865 and 1869. Would appreciate your aid in checking marriage information that you may have for Phillips County, Arkansas at your convenience. Thank you for an assist in search for when and where marriage took place.

I am looking for information on Christopher Columbus BUCHANAN. He is my great great great grandfather. I know he died as a confederate prisoner of war, during the Civil War, in Camp Morton, Indiana. I found a Phillips County, Arkansas census that had a Christopher Columbus BUCHANAN on it. But the census was taken in 1850 and Christopher's son, James Lawrence BUCHANAN, my ancestor, was born in 1851. I do know that James was born on Jan 9th 1851 somewhere in Arkansas. I also found a Christopher Columbus BUCHANAN who married Elizabeth Ann HOOPINGARNER on April 16, 1846 in Lawrence, Indiana. My grandmother told me that Christopher's wife was named Ann. I would appreciate any help in piecing this all together.

In 1836, Thomas ALLRED had land transactions in Tippah County, MS. I believe this Thomas ALLRED to be related to my GGGgrandfather Isaac P. ALLRED, just how not sure? Any information of this Thomas ALLRED & his siblings, & or descendants would be greatly appreciated. He was reportedly removed from Tippah County to Helena, Ar in Phillips County, where he & his descendants remained.
