BULLARD, MILLER posted by Sandra Ferguson on Wednesday, February 17, 1999

Susan Ann MILLER was married on 7 Feb. 1841 to Reuben James BULLARD, and they wed in Helena, Ark. Susan was only 15, and so was signed for by a guardian, whose name is not listed. Her parents were Martin and Elizabeth Berry MILLER, and supposedly they all were from Milledgeville, Ga. Now why Susan married in Helena is beyond me, but I wonder if her parents were living there at the time. Martin does not appear on the 1830,40,or 50 census of Phillips, but I wonder if there are any tax records available that I could check, either as a look up or on line. I just don't know where to go from here, and any help/suggestions will be appreciated.

DERDEN, GREEN posted by Rochelle Dirden on Wednesday, March 31, 1999

I am researching my husbands family. We are looking for Elijah DERDEN . He married Caroline GREEN in Monroe Co. AR in 1860/1861 and had a child Lee Hugh DERDEN on February 14, 1861. Elijah paid a poll tax to Phillips Co. in 1860/61 and resided in Connell Point. He was born ABT 1840. The child Lee Hugh was left an orphan at the age of one. We cannot find who raised him. He showed up on the IL census in 1880. We are also having trouble finding out who the parents of both Elijah DERDEN and Caroline GREEN were.

BANKS, GILES, MILLER, VERNOR posted by Julia Vernor on Thursday, April 29, 1999

I am looking for any information on Zenas Theopilhus VERNOR who lived in Phillips County from 1890's thru 1910 census. He later moved to Desha County. He was married to Virginia Ione GILES whom I have no information on. He was widowed before the 1910 census. They had 2 children; Walter Edward VERNOR (my grandfather)born in 1894 and a daughter whose name, date of birth and death are unknown. Zenas T. VERNOR is possibly related to William P.(Pinkey) VERNOR who was married to Georgia A. BANKS, stepdaughter of P.T.R. MILLER of Phillips County. I am particularly interested in finding the parents of Z. T. VERNOR or information on brothers, sisters and parents of W.P. VERNOR; and where they were originally from (Texas?). Any information on other Vernor's in Arkansas would also be appreciated.
