GIBBS, WHITING posted by Pat Verner on Thursday, February 8, 2001

Our family history tells us that my great grandparents were married in Helena, Phillips County, AR sometime before 1878 which was the year that my grandmother was born. Their names were Emma Elizabeth WHITING and David M. GIBBS. They probably married after the Civil War, but I'm not sure. The Phillips County Vital Records were not able to find any record of this marriage. Hopefully, someone can shed some light on this fact for me.
