My James Monroe SINGLETON'S parents were married in Hempstead County, AR in 1852. They were James M. SINGLETON and Mary Jane WHITE, both born TN. This James M. served, and died during the Civil War, in St. John's Hospital in Little Rock, AR. Mary Jane remarried to a Benjamin Franklin DAWSON, born in TN, and she moved between 1863 and 1870, to Hopkins County, TX. However, if you know anything about this James M. She was adopted by Oliver Perkins MAINS and his wife Emma (WINBURN) in about 1934. Winfred was born in 1924. Trying to find out who she married. She got married about 1939, and moved to Hickman, Kentucky. Her father lived in Helena, Arkansas. He died in a hospital in Benton, Arkansas in February 1947. What is the best way to get a copy of his obituary?

BAILES (King) from Trenton, Arkansas. I am doing research on the KING and BAILES family. My grandparents were William Durwood and Mamie Kendall KING and Henry Andrew and Octa Manning BAILES. If anyone can help me on information on the following I would appreciate it: John Henry BAILES married Ruth POWERS from Trenton, Arkansas. Need To Find Ruth! John Henry was killed in World War II. BOWEN, ELLIS, JACKSON, MOORE posted by A. J. Calvin on Wednesday, October 3, 2001: I am looking for the ELLIS, BOWEN, JACKSON, MOORE family. My great greatgrandfather's name is William ELLIS, he met and married Lettie BOWEN in Batesville, Arkansas (approx. 1861). Their children names were Dennis, Frank, George, James, and Lula (or Lucy). My grandfather's name is James ELLIS met and married Elizabeth JACKSON and they lived in Marianna, Arkansas (Lee county). Their children's names were James Jr., William, George Jr., Izola, Lettie, Mary, and Elizabeth. Mary ELLIS met and married Lee Oscar MOORE in Marianna Arkansas (Lee County) on February 2, 1924. They moved to Lexa, Arkansas (Phillips county) where they raised their children. They were all members of Mt. Olive Baptist church. Their children names were Johnny (JP), Theresa, Josehpine (Joe), Orlean (Honey), and James (Sonny). They all grew up in these areas (Southland, Helena, West Helena, and Walnut corners).

John was married to Rosa HUDSON, daughter of Obediah and Susan WILLIAMS HUDSON. Rosa had a sister, Imogene KELLER, that lived until her death in Helena. Another sister, Mittie married W. F. CARLOSS and lived in Memphis, Tn.
