Looking for the family of James H MARTIN. I find he may have married 2 times in Phillips Co. 1st to Heseltine BROWN, 7 Octor 1886, and Mrs. Lizzie GRAHAM, 28 April 1909 - No census record has been found of James or any of his family in 1900-10-20 - I do find a John H Martin and wife Lizzie in the 1910 Phillips Co census - Both John and Lizzie had been married 2 times - this would match my James H. Martin, John was a postmaster and so was my James - I think this is my James but why was he called John in the 1910 census. Mistake!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or what?
1910 Sercey TWP census
John H Martin a/51 m2
Lizzie /33 m2
Goldie /16f
Josey /13f
Sam /8m
Betty /4f
Montoy /3f
Orvie /2months m
Orvie would be the son of John and Lizzie - the other children were of John and first wife - can anyone help with any info

Found land grant in Phillips County ARK. Moses STEPHENS obtained a 160 acre land grant November 27, 1820. Reads as follows: #23320 there is granted untothe said Moses STEPHENS late a private Chotards or Ghotards Comp. of the first regiment of Infantry. I know very little about land grants. This was before the Civil War. Would this have been for service in the Revolution? My ancestor Moses STEPHENS was in Knox County KY census in 1810. But not the 1820.He was in Whitley County KY census in 1830. There's a twenty year gap here somewhere. Any help would be appreciated. pwilson
