The Circuit Clerk's Office at the court house in Des Arc has accumulated several unclaimed marriage licenses over the years. These ORIGINAL marriage licenses were never picked up from the courthouse at Des Arc after they were recorded.

Prairie County Clerk, Karan Briggs Skarda has agreed to make these unclaimed marriage records available to relatives. Cost is $6.00 for each original document. If you find any listing in the indexes connected to your family, you may request the original document(s) by writing to:

NO CHECKS ACCEPTED -- CASHIER'S CHECK or MONEY ORDER ONLY!

Compose a short letter, stating your relationship to the couple. Pedigree charts and/or family group sheet records will suffice.
Enclose $6.00 for each original marriage license desired. Cashier's Check or Money Order only. Any orders containing personal checks will not be processed or returned. Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope with .55¢ postage (subject to any United States Postal Service price increase) for each document requested to aid in processing and ensure prompt delivery. Please allow four weeks for processing.

PLEASE NOTE: You may not be the first or only applicant for the document(s) you are requesting. Please understand that requests will be processed in the order they are received and therefore could have already been purchased by another researcher or family member. Should this be the case, your money order will be returned to you. These lists will be continually updated in an effort to prevent request conflicts. You can help by sending an e-mail to the Prairie County Coordinator or to the ARPRAIRI-L mailing list to inform of your request intentions or document receipts.
