His wife was Martha Ann Tindall FORT and she died in Nacogdoches County, TX around 1910. He had sons, John, William, Isaac, who all lived in Prairie County. He signed Deeds of Trust to farm land that belonged to Hamp Minton in Prairie County, the last document being dated in January of 1886. His wife, Martha Ann, was never mentioned in any of the trasactions but she (alone) signed a Deed of Trust with the same Hamp Minton in December of 1886. This would seem to indicate that Elias had died at some time between January and December of 1886. They were poor people and I am presuming that would have made it necessary for him to have been buried in a cemetery near the Hamp Minton property. My problem is in locating that property. The positive side to all of this is that FORT family members havea devotion to marking their graves, so I am hoping that Elias's grave is also identified but I am not sure of that. ------- NAME: Ed Tatum EMAIL:tatum@wharton.upenn.edu SURNAMES: GRAY DATE: Monday, December 8, 1997 QRYTEXT:Looking for parents of three GRAY brothers who lived in Prairie Co: Jacob S. The late Myrtle Iren (Shelman) Holt. Her mother was Harriet (Gleason, may be her maiden name) and William Jesse Shelman of Hazen, Prairie County, Arkansas. And Benton County Arkansas. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I can trace my grandfather's line (the late Lowell Dair (Bo) Holt's to 1601) but the Shelman's line is a complete mystery. I do know they had 5 children, Philip, Wayne, William, Myrtle and Dorothy. But their parents I have no information. Thank you for your help. ------- NAME: Annette Ward EMAIL:rasaw@netusa1.net SURNAMES: WILHITE, WORDEN DATE: Thursday, January 15, 1998 QRYTEXT:Searching any info on: Daniel WILHITE, b. abt 1823, AL, was on the Prairie Co, AR 1870 census with wife Mary L. and 3 yr old son Frank.
