VETERANS
OF SHARP COUNTY

WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES
FOR THEIR COUNTRY

There is a memorial erected outside the Sharp County Courthouse to honor veterans who lost their lives in combat. The names are listed in the same order as on the memorial. The monument reads:

"IN HONOR AND MEMORY
OF VETERANS OF ALL WARS
WITH A SPECIAL SALUTE
TO THOSE FROM SHARP COUNTY
WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR OUR COUNTRY"

On a visit to Ash Flat in the fall of 2011; the Veterans Monument had been removed. The current location is unknown to me. When I find it again I will post it.

OPERATION REMEMBER

The Maryland Chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America have started a campain "Operation Remenber". They are collecting pictures of all Vietnam Veterans who lost their lives, and putting them online. I would also like to do this for Sharp County Veterans and maybe all Arkansas Veterans. Send pictures to Gary Wiles.
