Gravestone of N.L. Hopper, a more modern monument of polished granite.
APR. 4. 1831
FEB. 28. 1894
The cemetery was transcribed in 1975 by Mabel Bell and Jimmie Plumlee. Their reading was published in Cemeteries of Benton County, Arkansas, Volume 5, page 95. This reading did not include the gravestone of N.L. Hopper, which I believe is a more recent addition. It is a modern monument, made of polished granite. Even though erected after 1975, the monument is leaning and overgrown with weeds. Some other fieldstones are visible near the three monuments, and these may mark other graves.
This cemetery is in a state of neglect, unprotected by a fence, and overgrown with tall grass and brush.
Further history of the Hopper family and the Rock Church are unknown at this point. Any history you know should be recorded!
