WANT TO HELP BUT DO NOT WANT TO HOST?
If you are good at graphics, perhaps you love to transcribe and or have a love of photographing gravestones. Maybe you have some ideas of what you would like to do that is not already being done, like a special project such as census records, ship arrivals, trails heading west, the Trail of Tears, old newspapers and there are many more historical subjects out there that we can add for a variety - old postcards, old pictures of long-gone locations, ghost towns. The list can go on and on.
Trails To The Past has several states, counties and projects up for adoption. If you would be interested in adopting any project Check out the States List and the county listing for any state you research in. If you find a state that you would like to adopt e-mail the appropriate District Administrator. For counties contact the appropriate State Administrator.
|[ Being a County or State Administrator is fun and rewarding. If you have an interest in the history of our nation and the genealogy of it's residents please consider it. If you think "there is no way I can do this" there are many people ready, willing and able to help you. It's not near as difficult as you might think. ]|
| The Primary Purpose of Trails To The Past is to place online genealogical and historical information for the benefit of our visitors. The Secondary Purpose is to have fun doing so. In order to reach the goal we have no political stuff, no long list of requirements and we all work together towards the Primary Purpose. In other words, we follow the K.I.S.S. Principle [ Keep It Simple Stupid ].|
The requirements are simple. Post non-copyright, public domain, information online on our sites. Post material donated by visitors when it's submitted and give them copyright. Place the State and National Logo's on your home pages near the top [ Scroll up to the top of this page as an example ]. Have FUN.
A knowledge of web page construction is best but not absolutely necessary. There are people willing to help you get started. Your page designs are up to you, either as fancy or simple as you wish.
