Yearb Calton Bruce with a 3 1/2 pound Bass he caught on his 87th Birthday

Great Grandson Jared Bruce says: I loved visiting Van Buren County, around Clinton, the home of my ancestry, memories and grounding. This is my Great Grandfather's homeplace and it is still standing on hw 16 W of Clinton. Much as it has since around 1913 when he built it... The Bruce family sold it in the 1970's..... He originally inherited 4/ 40 acres from his folks across the road, and then he moved to the West side of the road and homesteaded the 160 acres that he built this house on around 1913 so I have been told. He is buried at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Alread.

The Y. C. Bruce place on highway 16 near Crabtree, Alread, communities. Still Standing. The color picture was how the place looked in 1973 when YC Died. (Admin. note, I drove by this August 31 2009, that roof to the right is the original log cabin the kids were born in and in later years used as a smoke house. That would be the SAME cabin the family photo was taken against, see family photo)
