The Woodruff County Historical Society was formed in 1972 and has published a book called "Rivers and Roads and Points in Between" since 1972. The book contains information about Woodruff County families, towns, and events from the earliest records. It is filled with not only stories and documents, but contains a wealth of pictures. The articles featured in this book are written by people interested in the counties history and perserving the history of families. The WCHS welcomes any stories about Woodruff County and will publish your family history as space permits.

When the "Rivers and Roads and Points in Between" was first published , it was published as a quarterly. In 1988, the WCHS began publishing one book a year.

We are out of many of our books but we do sell what issues we have. If we do not have the issue you want, we can make a copy of these:

Quarterlies- $5.00 a book(1972-1986)
Annuals - $13.00 a book(1988-2000)

Submitting articles: We prefer typed and doublespaced. Don't hesitate to write a one page article. These type stories help fill pages as well as 5-10 page articles.

Submitting pictures to publish in the Book: I prefer copies, not the original picture. Date the picture as close as possible. Try to identify the picture as completely as you can.

The topic of the article can be on anything relating to Woodruff County History. Family Stories are always welcomed.
