Libraries

The Library of Congress website is divided into several sections including the searchable catalog.

The Allen County Public Library is as large as the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah.

U.S. Government

Presently offline: The Bureau of Land Management  (BLM), General Land Office (GLO) Records Automation web site http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/ allows you to search the land title records for Eastern Public Land States, issued between 1820 and 1908. Some images of Serial patents, issued between 1908 and the mid-1960's are on this web site.

The Genealogy page for the National Archives Records Administration (NARA) provides finding aids, guides, and research tools that can prepare you for a visit to one of their facilities or for requesting records from NARA.
