Western Pennsylvania Asylum for the Insane at Dixmont

Emsworth (west of Pittburgh), Pennsylvania

No longer in operation. The 406-acre property, is located primarily along state Route 65 near Interstate 79 (close to downtown Pittsburgh). Vacant since 1984. Site as of 1998 included 26 buildings. Now only the graveyard remains.
