Northern Michigan Asylum (Traverse City State Hospital)

Building 22

Building 22 (Men's Dining Hall/Auditorium) is located in the southern cottage area at the former Traverse City State Hospital grounds. It is located between cottages 28 and 40, and is connected to both buildings. It bears little resemblance to the other cottages of the area. Its sister building was located between two cottages in the north (women's) cottage area, but this was demolished to make way for a road in the mid 1990s.

Some of the only interior space in the old buildings which might be suitable for auditoriums or classrooms in a re-use plan is located in this building. However, it is currently designated for demolition.
