Northern Michigan Asylum (Traverse City State Hospital)
Root Cellar (Building 63)

Building 63 (Root Cellar) is a small stable-like building located on the north side of Yellow Drive, west of most of the Traverse City State Hospital buildings. building appears to be one of the oldest service buildings, probably built near the end of the 19th Century.

This attractive and historic little building is not one of the buildings designated for preservation. The very similar Building 62 lies to the west of Building 63. This building has a garage-door-like entrance. It was constructed in 1886.
