10 children born to this marriage. I descend from the eldest daughter,
Barbara Mackall (Wilkinson) CALVIT, who came to Texas in the 1820s. The
youngest daughter, Jane Herbert (Wilkinson) LONG, also came to Texas and
became known as "The Mother of Texas."

1830 census of Madison Co, TN. His first 4 children were Jane (WHITE),
John Washington, Polly Caroline (MAY), and Mary Ann (EARLY). William
DENT's second wife was Hepsobah GARTMAN b @1800 SC who is listed on the
1840 census of Madison Co, TN and the 1850 census of Dyer Co, TN. Their
3 children were Francis Louisa (CARADINE), Martha Elizabeth (NASH), and
Nancy Rebecca. I descend through his daughter Mary Ann DENT EARLY.

England. Settled in Philadelphia after a brief stop in New York.
Nothing else is known about Elizabeth. Her first son, d. in infancy, was
named George HEBDEN Hudson. The 2nd child was also named George (middle
name William). Elizabeth DENT Hudson d. March 9, 1873 in Philadelphia.
Please contact if this looks familiar or if you have suggestions for
research. I will be in Yorkshire this summer, so research suggestions
would be very appropriate, as would any general information about Dent
families coming from Yorkshire. Are there any published works I should
check?

Franklin Co.,MO. He died in 1834 leaving a will. His
children are Bailey(My GGGGrandfather),Josiah,Henry,
Lavina,Malinda,Ollie, Winnie Ann.
I descend from Bailey, his daughter, Ann Elizabeth,
who married Richard Cornelius Skinner, Their son
Bailey Dent Skinner, who married Catherine Quigg,
Their daughter Esther Skinner who married T.W.S.Holt
and their daughter Nell who married Ben O. Wright Jr.,
and their daughter Mary Beth Wright Calvo, Me.
Still looking for solid proof of Ann Elizabeth being the

ANN POSTON/CHAPMAN? His son REV. HATCH DENT born May 20, 1751 Chas. Co.,
MD died Dec 30, 1799 Chas. Co., MD Married Judith Poston.
Is this correct? Does anyone have the book "the Maryland

daughter of John Marshall Dent, the granddaughter of John Marshall Dent,
the g-granddaughter of John Francis Dent, all of St. Mary's County MD.I
have Dent lines from John Dent and Mary Hatch and from George Dent and

Magruder Truman,(?-1814), and those preceding.
Fortunately, sixteen letters of James Truman Dent to his daughter,
Elizabeth Virginia Dent have been preserved and are now in my possession.
They are extremely well written and provide an unusual view of their
lives at that time (1832-1851). In particular, I am interested in any
of the Dent family that moved to Augusta, Ga from Maryland in the early
1800's. Has anyone been able to locate their plantations near
Augusta?

married Benjamin Swann.
All information is welcome, but am especially looking for information on
Catherine Dent and Benjamin Swann, or anything on their three sons
Benjamin, Samuel, and Theophilus. I believe Samuel and Theophilus to be
twins, and their parents died when these three were minors, sometime
before 1845.
