ROSENTHAL for abrasions and shock [88] During the afternoon on 30 July 1937 he was being driven to Three Springs for an X-Ray when he leapt from the moving car [88] It seems he was caught before he actually left the car, and without any injury being caused to himself [88] He admitted that he had in fact jumped out of the train and leapt from the car deliberately, as he was sick of his wife [88] On his discharge from the Carnamah Private Hospital at 5 p.m. on 31 July 1937 he was taken to the Carnamah Police Station [88] He was placed under arrest on the charge of unsound mind and was detained temporarily in the Police Station's lock-up [88] Dr ROSENTHAL issued a certificate under the Mental Treatment Act which was also signed by a local Justice of the Peace [88] He boarded a train in Carnamah at 11:55 p.m. on 1 August 1937 under the supervision of Constable LEE of Geraldton [88] The Central Police met the train in Perth and escorted him to the Heathcote Mental Hospital for treatment [88] Resided in the Perth suburb of Jolimont in 1938 [2] Died 9 February 1938; buried Karrakatta Cemetery, Perth WA (Church of Christ, CA, 83A) [2] His wife was married for the second time to Frank CHAPMAN in Perth in 1939 [66]

Following his retirement, Mr. Angel, accompanied by his family came to Carnamah about 12 months ago where he resided until recently when he went to Perth to receive medical attention. The late Mr. Angel leaves a widow and four daughters, Mrs. C. Dodd (Midland Junction), Mrs. A. O. Fiebig (Mullewa), Mrs. E. Brandis (Coomberdale), and Annie, and one son Walter (Carnamah) to mourn their sad loss."
