Purchaser of some of the first subdivided blocks in Moora, and Gardiner Street in Moora was named in his honour [305]
Served on the Midland Railway Company's Railway Committee, which managed the Company's railway line, from 1907 to 1911 [305]

     Himself and the Company's directors devised the "New Land Scheme" (later renamed the "Improved Farms Scheme") [34]
     The Scheme involved the Company surveying some of their virgin land into smaller holdings and transforming these into farms [34]
     Once partially cleared, fenced and with a jarrah house, water supply, stable and shed the land was then sold at a higher price [305]
     The purpose of the farms, which were advertised as "Ready Made Farms," was to attract immigrants with small capital [34]
     Ready Made Farms were created and accompanying townsites declared in Carnamah, Winchester and Coorow [34]

    The auction was to sell townsite lots in Mogumber, Coorow and Carnamah, and a further subdivision of townsite lots in Moora [10]
Attended a meeting in Three Springs on 19 June 1914, when a District Council of the Farmers & Settlers Association was formed [10]

While she was living in East Perth her husband worked as a Fettler in Moora and later in Koojan [6]

On the morning of Monday 16 May 1930 the laundry, garage and a portion of his house were destroyed by fire [4: 31-May-1930]

     The fire was believed to have started from the copper in his laundry or their neighbour's laundry which adjoined theirs [4]
     By the time help was available both laundries and garages, which were built of oiled wood, were a mass of flames [4]
     Within five minutes a large number of helpers had assembled at the two houses, which were threatened of being destroyed [4]
     Those present quickly emptied all furniture and contents from both houses out onto the street out of danger [4]
     By this time the walls of their home were on fire however with the assistance of trucks carting water the houses were saved [4]
     He lost his car, which was inside his garage, and it was uninsured as its insurance policy had expired a couple of weeks earlier [4]

Home cooking will be an important feature of the business and special attention will be given to quick service. Adjoining the tearooms is a hairdressing saloon for ladies, who after partaking of a refreshing cup of tea may adjourn thither and have their hair dressed in the latest mode."
