"Old Resident Buried at Winchester - The death recently occurred in Perth of a former resident of Winchester and Carnamah in the person of Mrs Gladys Ethel Armstrong, widow of the late Mr James Armstrong, who predeceased his wife at Carnamah some years ago. The deceased lady, who was seventy two years of age, was born at Bowness in Lancashire (England) and came to Western Australia nearly forty years ago to reside at Winchester with her husband and engage in farming pursuits. With their family the late Mr and Mrs Armstrong remained at Winchester until a few years ago and then retired from active life to reside at Carnamah, at which centre they remained until the death of Mr Armstrong. The deceased lady is survived by three sons and two daughters; two of the former - Messrs Jack and Neil Armstrong - still being engaged in farming activities at Winchester. Funeral - Following a service conducted in the Carnamah Anglican Church, the remains of the late Mrs Armstrong were interred in the Winchester Cemetery on Monday of last week in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends.
