Over the years the Illawarra Family History Group has built up a considerable library collection. These resources are housed in the Reference Section, Wollongong City Library, Burelli Street, Wollongong. Most items are on open access although some are available only to members. Users are encouraged to join the group as we rely on members support to maintain and add to our collection.
Library Assistants
Volunteer Library Assistants are present in the Library Wednesday and Friday mornings.
So bring along your queries and get some help in finding some answers.
Please note:
- Books and microfiche which are not locked in the cupboards or filing cabinets will be available during all normal library hours.
- Wednesday and Fridays will still be only days that "helpers" will be on duty to help with research.
- It will be necessary to bring your IFHG member card with you to show to the librarian on duty to get the locked cupboards and filing cabinents. Locked cupboards and filing cabinets MUST NOT be left unlocked while doing research.
- The IFHG computer is for the use of IFHG members only. It will be available to non-members for a fee and use under supervision.
Do not ask the Library staff for help on any computer problems.
The computers are manages by the IFHG. But if members are present they may be able to help.
