Our chapter was formed in October 1984 under the watchful eye of Deanie Kemper, while she was Units Overseas Chairman under President General Sarah King. Our current Regent is Carolyn Benn.

Charlotte White, Honorary State Regent of Oregon - and Organizing Chapter Regent, Charlene Bradley, and her sisters, were our great champions, helping us to get documents for the members that we needed to become a chapter. The process of becoming a chapter started for us in 1981 and was finally completed in 1984. We started with ten members.

Today, we have twenty-four members, and four of those were founding members. Our members live far and wide across Australia. We have had members in New Zealand and in the United States. We are also supported by many associate members - who are a truly valuable part of our chapter.

Australian FlagThe Captain James Cook Chapter supports a range of charities across Australia. In the past, we have supported the Royal Flying Doctor's Service, Anglicare Australia, and BWAEF - Black Women's Action in Education Foundation. Our members also knit blankets for charity as well as collecting food and helping out by recycling.
