In March 2009, we were graced with a visit by Linda Winthers, from the Gold Trail Chapter, DAR. Carolyn and David Benn hosted Barry and Linda, Charlene and Graham Bradley, Camilla Sheridan, Susan and Ron Lightowlers, Orel Lea and James and Gaila Merrington, in their Manly harbour side abode. We enjoyed hearing from Charlene, Linda and Orel during the evening’s festivities. Later a stroll down the Corso took us to a beach side restaurant, where we enjoyed good food and good company.
We heard about Barry and Linda’s travels in Australia, Orel’s upcoming visit to the Rhode Island birthplace of her ancestors as well as Susan and Ron’s new home.
Linda kindly gave each of us a lovely pineapple bag, which is the symbol of hospitality. It seemed a lovely reminder of the new friendships we make when we are able to extend hospitality to our sisters and friends in DAR.
