Camelback Chapter has been active in central Phoenix for almost 25 years serving "Working Women" in the area. Our chapter is made up of working and non-employed members with interests in preserving history, supporting education, and promoting patriotism through the work of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

We meet the third Thursday evening of each month, September through May, and always welcome visitors to our meetings.

Camelback Chapter was approved on October 7, 1982, and organized on November 20, 1982, as Arizona's 15th chapter. The name "Camelback" paints a descriptive picture of the most famous and imposing mountain in Phoenix. Its copper-brown rock stretches in the image of a dromedary camel across the desert. According to historical sources, the origin of its name is unrecorded. Since it is a geological formation, its existence long precedes the founding of Phoenix in 1870. The chapter's name instantly identifies it with the Arizona State capitol and the 48th state.

Membership is open to any woman who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence.
