WELCOME
TO OUR WEBSITE Casa Grande Valley Chapter members welcome you to our website. We meet on the first Saturday of the month between September and May. Contact Mary Lee Matthias, Regent, for information on chapter meetings and Ellen Lynn for information on membership. The Casa Grande Valley Chapter DAR began when Marion Lerzo moved to Casa Grande in 1980. She inquired about the nearest chapter and it was suggested that she start a chapter with two other DAR members, Nancy Wofford and Letatia Passmore who also lived in Casa Grande. Their first organizational meeting was held May 13, 1980. The name Casa Grande Valley was chosen because it described where we were located, and the Casa Grande Ruins represented a very historical part of our area. The members later adopted the image of the Casa Grande Ruins as a chapter logo. On May 13, 1980 an organizational meeting was held in the Sky Lounge at Francisco Grande Resort Hotel. Organizing members were Mrs. Marion Lerzo, Mrs. Walter Averill, Mrs. Vesta Diveley, Mrs. Mary Daugherty, Mrs. Lucile Gilbert, Mrs. Inez Hewes, Mrs. Leora Howell, Mrs. Barbara Jackson, Mrs. Ruth Norris, Mrs. Patricia Middleton, Mrs. Letatia Passmore, Mrs. Michele Smith and Mrs. Nancy Wofford.
