Governor Hunt Biography

The Governor George W. P. Hunt Chapter, NSDAR, is excited that you are interested in DAR and our chapter in particular. We are an active presence in our community and come from a variety of backgrounds. Our chapter is a group of women - working together - to achieve common goals while having fun and gaining new friendships.

United only by the knowledge that each chapter member descends from a man or woman who struggled by patriotic, civil or public service to achieve independence from England, we have found that our chapter members have become our friends.

Please consider joining us as we work together to achieve the NSDAR goals of Historic Preservation, Education and Patriotism. We invite any woman over the age of 18 who can prove descent from a Revolutionary War participant to consider joining our Chapter of DAR and sharing with us a love of America, its history, its future and its people. We marvel at the enthusiasm and energy of our younger members, some of who are working mothers or college students, while valuing the wisdom and experience of our 80-year-old members.
