HALE--My first cousin, Charles Lewis HALE, Jr., b. 1917,
Roanoke, VA, d. Apr 1946, Yolo Co., CA, in the crash of the plane
he was piloting. He m. in AZ in the early 1940s, had a son, and
then divorced. Am trying to find the son, whose name I do not
know. Nor do I know the name of the mother. Nor do I know where
they were married other than "Arizona." I realize this
is a needle in a haystack proposition, but would like to find
son, if possible. Charles HALE was a captain in the US Army Air
Corps during WWII and trained pilots. He had separated from the
service and was on "terminal leave" in Apr of 1946 when
the plane he had just taken off inexplicably lost power and
crashed into a shop building at Borges Air Port and burned. His
parents were Charles Lewis HALE, Sr., b. Franklin Co VA, ca 1886
and Ina THOMAS HALE, b. Lynchburg, VA. Any help appreciated.

UPDATE:
I have located his name on a 1920 census for Globe, AZ.. It
states that he immigrated to the US in 1890 (which would make him
about 7 years old) from Germany. His parents are from Germany and
speak German. The census further states that he was naturalized
in 1919 (in Globe??) and that he was a roomer living on 359 Broad
Street, Globe. The house was that of an Arthur M. Kenyon . He may
have worked for a company called Consolidated Stage Company,
driving and operating a car between Globe and Miami, Florida.
Possibly owned real estate in Miami, Florida. Any help is
appreciated. I would also like to know if you know of any
researchers who research genealogy? I have looked at the National
Archives and a LDS family history center. I would like to know of
someone in Globe who could do some looking into stuff. Thanks for
your help Carol.

HOWE--We have been making inquiries at the AZ State
Archives and the Genealogical Society with no luck. We would
appreciate any help, advice, tips to sources, etc. for the
following search:
ALBION HOWE, MY MISSING GREAT-GRANDFATHER
Born circa 1859 in Massachusetts or New Hampshire...Died some time after 1907, probably in ARIZONA...Married to Emma Jane (Knight) Howe, also born back east. They had five children. Lived in Superior, Wisconsin from at least 1891 but probably longer (1891 was the first year Superior had a city directory).
Albion was active in the politics of Superior: he was an alderman, president of the city council, and was appointed Acting Mayor in 1895-96 when the presiding mayor was impeached for taking graft from the saloons. Albion seemed to be considered a highly moral sort of man. Albion remained in Superior, working in the MINING INDUSTRY as well as politics (we see his occupation listed as "miner" only once; the rest of the time he is superintendent of various elevators down near the Lake Superior docks. We are not sure if it was the iron or coal mining industry.)
We last see him listed in the Superior directory in 1906. In 1907 and 1908 we see Emma Jane at the same address with some of her (now grown) children. In the 1909 directory she lists herself as "widow, Albion". She may have been lying to save face. We found no probate records in Superior, so that's my hunch. Family rumor has it that he left his family in Superior and "ran off with the town prostitute," but that may also be an exaggeration of Emma Jane's. She was a staunch and very active churchwoman, and another rumor has it that it's one of the reasons Albion left.
My grandfather John (Albion's son) graduated high school in Superior in 1906 or 1907, and began working almost immediately for a coal mining company in the area. My father remembers my grandfather telling him that Albion wrote a letter to the family requesting that John visit him in ARIZONA. This likely happened in 1907, 08 or 09, but may have been later. We do not know. It would not have happened after John was married in 1912. The visit did take place, but my father does not remember what city or county John said he visited.
We have no other knowledge of what happened to Albion either during or after his son's visit. We don't know if he was living alone or with someone. We don't know what his occupation was in Arizona, though something connected with mining is likely. We don't know when or where he died, or where he is buried.

1880 and 1890. I believe his sons stayed in the area after his

WATKINS, John Abraham WATKINS, Marion Alexander WATKINS, and Ezra
Monroe WATKINS. I would like to know more about their lives and
where they are buried. If there is anyone out there with any

grandmother. Her married name was Ursula Ramos and can be found
as "Madrecits Ursula Ramos de Sanchez (1892-1971) in the
listing". After looking further into the "S"
listing for both Salas ( what we are told her maiden name was) as
well as de Sanchez and Sanchez (that is shown from the Ramos
posting) we are unable to find her or relatives at all. Any
assistance would be appreciated. Also, we are looking to discover
if it is possible to research members from Mexico, born, buried,
married adn the like. Any assistance is appreciated. Thank you,

Michael Mabile
MABILE/GORE--I am looking for any information I can find
about my great-grandmother, Kate MABILE, or any of her
descendants who may have lived in Gila County. Kate is listed in
the 1920 census as living on Orphan Street in the town of Miami.
Listed with her are her youngest son, Cornelius MABILE (who was
also known as Neal), her youngest daughter, Annie MABILE, and a
grandson, Daniel GORE. Daniel was the son of Kate's daughter
Bessie MABILE and Bessie's husband Guy GORE. Cornelius is shown
in the census listing as being a soldier in the U.S. Army. Four
apparently unrelated roomers also lived in Kate's home in Miami.
I do not know what happened to the MABILE and GORE families after 1920. Family history suggests that the GORES continued to live in the Arizona/New Mexico area, but that Kate may have moved to California. Any information about these people or any suggestions about further research would be greatly appreciated.

SIXBY RANCH, GARRETT RANCH AND FAMILY OF SIXBY, SIGSBY, SIGSBEE
Seek info regarding Garrett Ranch, also possibly known as Sixby
Ranch, and descendants of Charles, Garrett, or Everett (Evert)
Sixby, Sigsby, Sigsbee or any info regarding family or their
ranch. Charles W. Sigsby was killed by Indians in an attack at
the Sigsby (Sixby) Ranch in an area called Pleasant Valley on
July 12, 1882, according to a newspaper account. With him was a
Robert Sigsby, and in the article there is no mention of a
relationship to Charles. Also a man named Houdon (no first name),
who died with Charles. It is unclear if Robert survived his
wounds. There was a Garrett O. Sigsby living on the ranch, who
was injured, but not killed. In 1887 he was trying to rebuild the
ranch. The family's original name was spelled Sixby in Canada,
may have been spelled Sigsby in the states until around 1900,
when members of the families changed it to Sigsbee. Canadian
ancestor (Gerrit/Garrett) was originally from New York (1700s).
Also seek info re an Everett F. Sigsbee died Sep 29, 1946 at
Tucson, Arizona at age 39. It is unknown if he is a descendant of
this family. The 1900 Soundex for AZ shows Garret O. Sixby, born
Oct 1834, age 65, living as a boarder in the household of a
Robert H. Samuel in Gila Co. Please email me with any
information. Cheryl Sigsbee sigsbee1@yahoo.com

MITCHELL, he was married to my mother, Sandra H. Palmer. I think
they were married in 1954. I was born, Juanita Marlene Mitchell
on April 14, 1958 in Globe, Arizona. They were divorced shortly

things. Jackie Mitchell was in the military when he was married
to my mother, his mother is deacesed, he has or had a brother
living in Globe, he is tall with brown hair and brown eyes.I wa
told that my father was part Indian and that I looked just like
him. I was also told that my father was married and had a few
children, but I'm not sure about this. So much time has slipped
away that if there is any chance that I might find him before
either of us gets any older, would be more than I could ever hope
for. If anyone knows anything, Please e-mail me at

JAYCOX--I am currently researching HENRY H. JAYCOX who
was born 10/26/1835 ( father David Jaycox, mother Minerva Ann
Foote) in Rushville, NY. At age 10 his family moved
to Waukesha, Wisconsin. He married Catherine Bovee
and they had, from what I know so far, two sons Lafayette (b.
9/1858 d.1/1859) and Henry Lafayette (b. 5/13/1861 d.
3/16/1947). He may have divorced and remarried (Martha Halley).
Henry was a scout and guide for a pack train to the Pima indians
and led 23 men. In Coconino Nat'l Forest a mountain and
small pond (tank) are named for him. I have 2 death dates,
one is 1884 the other is 1/1901. The 1901 date list his
burial as ",Gila Co, behind Stewart Dam, Under Saguaro
Lake." Saguaro Lake is in Maricopa Co so this is a
little confusing. Another account has him buried in
Globe. I have posted this query with the Coconino and
Yavapai sections as well.
If anyone has additional information or corrections to
the above PLEASE email me. Thank you very much!
