Effective July 1, 1998, birth records more than 75 years old and death records more than 50 years old were made public records, you no longer have to prove a relationship to obtain a copy of the record If you are looking for birth records less than 75 years old or death records less than 50 years old, you must still contact the Vital Records Section of the Arizona Department of Health Services, P. O. Box 3887, Phoenix, AZ 85030-3887 or phone (602) 255-3260. For more information visit Arizona Department of Health Services Vital Records Information . Copies of marriage and divorce records must still be obtained from the county in which the license was issued or the decree was granted.
