Mortuary Marks 12 years in Community
Open house from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
at the Hunter mortuary Sunday will mark the observance of the firm’s 12th
anniversary, which occurred Wednesday.
The public is invited.
The occasion marked not only the
mortuary’s 12 the year in Prescott, but also the 22nd year in
mortuary work for Clarence E. Hunter, owner, who started serving his
apprenticeship Dec. 1, 1926, at the Hubbard mortuary in Bisbee.
In observing his firm’s birthday,

serving six years with the Bisbee firm where he took his apprenticeship. Hunter was employed by the Porter and
Hunter was appointed a member of
the Arizona State Board of Funeral Directors by the late Gov. Sidney P. Osborn
and is at present serving as president of the board.
Hunter is a member of Arizona
Lodge No. 1, IOOF, in which he is a past noble grand, and is past chief
patriarch of Granite Encampment. He also
is a past captain of the local
Active in community affairs,
Hunter has served as chairman of the Red Cross drive, chairman of the crippled
children’s society of the county and is a member of
the Volunteer Fire department. He has
been a Kiwanian (sic) several years.
