History or Nursing Scholarship

One local scholarship is funded from the Yuma Chapter. It was started in 1995 with a bequest in the will of Elsie N. White, a DAR member. Since then it has grown due to an additional bequest and interest earned on the endowed funds.

This scholarship is awarded bi-annually to a recipient in the fall of even numbered years. The recipient is chosen in the spring of such years. The scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who intends to enter college with a history major, or an education major with plans to teach history, or a social studies major with an interest in history, or as a student pursuing a career in nursing. It is administered by the Arizona Western College Foundation. Deadline for filing for the 2010 award will be Spring 2010. Contact AWCF for forms or information at 928-344-1720 or http://awcfoundation.azwestern.edu.
