Scholarships History or Nursing Scholarship One local scholarship is funded from the Yuma Chapter. It was started in 1995 with a bequest in the will of Elsie N. White, a DAR member. Since then it has grown due to an additional bequest and interest earned on the endowed funds.This scholarship is awarded bi-annually to a recipient in the fall of even numbered years. The recipient is chosen in the spring of such years. The scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who intends to enter college with a history major, or an education major with plans to teach history, or a social studies major with an interest in history, or as a student pursuing a career in nursing. It is administered by the Arizona Western College Foundation. Deadline for filing for the 2010 award will be Spring 2010.
