In 2005 the Powell River Genealogy Group celebrated its 25th anniversary.   To mark this special occasion a special cake was created.   But this cake was no ordinary cake!

The chocolate cake was baked by member Ray Sketchley.   Those who have tried Ray's cake would tell you it is to die for.   Next the cake went to the local mortician Joanne Gisle who proceeded to prepare the cake.   First she shaped the cake into the figure of a tombstone.   Second she decorated it with stone-coloured icing and applied the appropriate inscription.   Finally it was delivered to our annual summer potluck dinner.

I had some of the cake and it was delicious.   It truly was cake to die for!
