DONATIONS POLICY (April
4, 2007)
All donations to the Qualicum Family History Society Library will be
acknowledged and thanked by email or phone. Acknowledgement will also
be placed on each item retained. Therefore it would be appreciated if
donors would complete a donation form so that we know who has donated
the items and can acknowledge such.
Due to possibly outdated information and for lack of space in the
library cupboard, any journals older than 10 years will not be added to
the collection. However useful articles may be removed and placed in a
pamphlet file. These articles will be filed under Country, Province,
State and/or County.
All items will be added to the
collection at the discretion of the Library Committee. The following
considerations may apply:
-
Materials should enhance the collection and
educational programs of the Society
-
Items may not be accepted if in poor condition nor
of outdated information
-
Items are accepted with the proviso that the
society becomes the sole owner of the materials and therefore
determines retention or disposal of such
-
In the case of the materials not being suitable for
retention, donors should indicate their wishes as to the items disposal
on the donation form
-
If donated items are to be disposed of by the
Society they will be offered to other QBFHS members at a small fee (10c
for magazines and .25c-$1 for books) and any monies raised will go
towards the purchase of new materials.
The QBFHS library
appreciates
all donations!
