George Scott Bragg
March 25, 1929 - January 24, 2009
George Scott Bragg, of Boulder, Colorado, passed away peacefully at his home on January 24, 2009. He was 89 years old.
George was born March 25, 1929, in Longmont, Colorado to George Thomas Bragg and Mary (Mosher) Bragg. His mother passed away when he was very young and he was raised by his father and his second wife, Anna Miller Bragg. George graduated from Longmont High School, earned a B. A. from the University of Colorado and served in the United States Army during WWII. After his honorable discharge from his duty station in Japan, George returned to Colorado where he worked for several years with the Selective Service office and draft board in Denver. He later moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico and worked at the White Sands Missile Range. George later returned to Colorado and worked until retirement at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder.
Mr. Bragg enjoyed playing tennis in local tournaments, and traveling. He was an avid reader, enjoyed playing the piano and attending theater productions. He will be remembered for his kindness and his willingness to assist people in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, but is survived by his sister, Irene Bragg of Longmont.
Cremation arrangements have been handled by Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services, Longmont. A private service was held at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
