Paul EddyNolan, 93, of 109 Ineer St., Kelso, died Oct 18, 1992 at a local nursing home. He was born Sept 29, 1899, in Warren, Ind., the youngest of 10 children born to Mears E. and Emma E. (Bible) Nolan.
He came to the local area from Cadillac, Mich., in 1926. A year later, he went to work for Long Bell Lumber Co., where he retired in 1965 after 38 years employment. He was a member of the International Woodworkers of America.
Other memberships included the Odd Fellows in Kelso; the Catlin Grange, of which he was a past Noble; and the Longview-Kelso Rebekah Lodge. He enjoyed gardening and his family, and he and his wife, Agnes, enjoyed traveling and hunting. On Oct 4, he and Agnes celebrated 39 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Irene Chamberlain of Kelso. Louise Hollis of Eureka, Calif., Darlene Peterson of Vancouver, and stepdaughter Caroline Spartz of Portland; five sons, Ivan Nolan of Aberdeen, Don Nolan of Long Beach, and stepsons Stan Grieb of Oroville, Calif., Carl Grieb of Ekalaka, Mont., Art Grieb of Hoodsport, Wa.; 69 grandchildren; 305 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by two sons and a daughter.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. wednesday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park with Pastor Carol Plummer officiating. Services will conclude at the chapel. Private interment will take place at Longview Memorial Park. Friends may pay respect until 8 this evening and from 9 to 11 a.m. wednesday at the funeral home.
