British Isles Family History Society – U.S.A.

Colonial Connections Study Group

Leader: Nancy Ellen Carlberg

The Colonial Connections Study Group of the British Isles Family History Society – U.S.A. is new in 2006. Its purposes are to help researchers with colonial ancestry make the connection back to Great Britain by using the unique record sources of Colonial America.

BIFHS–USA does not maintain a separate library, but has donated its research materials to the Los Angeles Regional Family History Center, where they may be consulted free of charge.

Group Meetings

The Colonial Connections Study Group holds periodic meetings after the monthly general meetings of BIFHS–USA at the Los Angeles Regional Family History Center located at 10741 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles. Meeting dates and topics are announced in the newsletter and included in the meetings listing on this website. Any BIFHS-USA member may join the Colonial Connections Study Group with no extra fee required.

All meetings are free of charge, though members may occasionally be asked to help defray the costs of class handouts. The Colonial Connections Study Group does not charge any membership or consultation fees. Meeting attendees are free to conduct personal research in the Los Angeles Regional Family History Center. The Study Group Leader and other members will be available to consult about individual research.
