Group MeetingsThe group meets bi-annually at the Los Angeles Family History Center, 10741 Santa Monica Blvd., West Los Angeles, right after the BIFHS-USA general meeting. See the BIFHS-USA meetings page for information on upcoming meetings. The Welsh Study Group meets from 3:30PM to 5:00PM; however, you may stay in the center until 6:00PM and do your own research. Research MaterialsBIFHS–USA does not maintain a separate library, but has donated its research materials to the Los Angeles Regional Family History Center, where they may be consulted free of charge. The call number for library holdings on Wales is 942.9. Over the years, the members of the Welsh Study Group have donated a number of books and fiche to the LARFHC. We have an "on-going fund" to purchase these items. Research AssistanceBIFHS-USA members requiring help in finding a Welsh ancestor can contact Annie Lloyd at cardi2@aol.com, and arrangements can be made for them to come into the library and have help with their research. This is not to say that the research will be done for you. Annie is usually at the LAFHC on Wednesdays from 1:00PM to 5:00PM, but please call first. Any members who live out of the area and who cannot come into the library, please write or send an email to Annie with your problem. If you send it via postal mail, please write to Annie Lloyd, c/o of the British Isles Family History Society – U.S.A., 2531 Sawtelle Blvd., PMB #134, Los Angeles, CA 90064-3124, and enclose an SASE for a reply. Please do not send any attachments thru the Internet without notifying Annie first. |
