Minutes of HM Council: 18 August 1687
At a councell held at St Georges August 18th 1687.

Upon the return of the writt of Enquirey of Mr James Smailes, his bayle, with severall others the comition being to seven and that any five of them may pass upon it so that liberty is allowed them to leave out any two; Ordered yt the Secretary seale up the said comition and direct it to Mr William Green and that two more be added in the comition and that the Secretary give notice who are the defendants in Smailes case; ordered also that the comissioners meet on Thursday noon sevennight at Mr Jones, his house at eight of the clock to ..... their comition and appointed that Mr Thomas Outerbridge & Mr Charles Walker be added to the comition which makes nine in number.
Ordered that a comition be granted for the man in prison by the name John Mellon his troyall.
Mr Richards declaration was read, by which he denyed that once the Governor demanded or ordered any money for the Comition of Enquiry into the damages sustained by the said Stafford, Capt Bascome, Captain Keele, and Mr William Righton; ordered that notice be given to Mr Richard Stafford to appear atr next Counsell as also such persons as can give in evidence in relation to the Governore demanding as Mr Stafford said of him three pounds of money for the said Comission. Mr Richard Pitt sumoned to be Justice of the case for Pembroke Tribe.
