Minutes of HM Council: 18 June 1686

Whereas the timber of these islands has been greatly impaired and wasted by transporting of pailes, tubs, chaires, broomes and other wrought cedar, under pretense that they are not cedar planque. Notwithstanding divers publicacons hereof made to ye contrary which if not speedily prevented will be much wanting for his Maties Service, upon sundry occasions. These are therefore in his Maties name, once more strictly to require all and every person and persons, that they presume not upon any pretense what ever to transport any of the premises, or any palmetto topps after ye first day of July next, as they will answer ye contrary at their perill.
