Friday last, Anniversary meeting of the Bermuda Auxiliary British & Foreign Bible Society held athte town hall in Hamilton; Worshipful Richard Darrell, Mayor of Hamilton gave a speech, "expressed the deep regret he felt for the loss which the Auxiliary sustained in the removal from the Colony of the Hon J C Esten, our late Chief Justice, who for many years filled the office of President of the Institution", proposed that the Hon Thomas Butterfield, Chief Justice, be elected President.
