deposition before His Majesty's Council, 12 August 1686
Willm Pitt Esq aged 50 years, being duly sworne & having heard ye 5th article exhibited by Willm Righton Senr agt ye Honble Richd Cony Esq deposeth & saith he this depont is one much employd in Sea Affaires from these Islands and yt he doth usually pay five shillings for a sea-pas for his vessell but for other impositions mencond in ye said article knoweth nothing of but as it was alwaies used twelve pence a man for a tickett to goe of ye Island.
