deposition before His Majesty's Council, 12 August 1686

Samuel Trott who being sworne saith yt when ye Assembly sate, he being one of ye Assembly men, and after they sate they appointed some Committees out of ye Assembly who sate at ye church for convenience, and in ye interim of severall of them being drawne out of ye Assembly, Mr Righton comes to ye rest of ye Assembly and prefers severall articles agt Mr Henry Durham & likewise a petition and for ye substance of it, I doe well remember was to yt effect which he now has produced to this Honble Court and likewise at ye same time yt he presented them to ye Assembly he did declare yt ye GoverE & Councell would not doe anything about them formerly and now he came to trie what ye Assembly would doe and if they did not inquire further about them he had done his duty and he would acquaint ye king of it upon wch he was desird to withdraw and then Capt Thoms Richards foreman of ye Assembly had them read & then those yt were there present was in ye opinion with ye foreman yt they should be sent to ye GoverE & Councell and yt there were men appointed to carry them to ye GoverE out of ye Assembly and they did goe as I declared upon my oath the other day.
