Benjamin Dougherty, b. 1796 Co. Down, Ireland, d. 18 Nov. 1882, Anglican

with 5 children and 4 more were born in Canada. Benjamin’s tombstone
(which is broken) in the Anglican Cemetery in Lower Woodstock, NB gives
his name as Dougherty but the burial record from the church records reads
“#126 Dogherty, Benjamin of Richmond (burried) d. 21 Nov 1882 86 years”.

I am looking for anyone working on the Surrency name with various
spellings.
There are multiple references that the family came from PENN to the
Cheraw Dist / St David's Parish, SC. or Chesterfield Co. / Craven Co. SC.
My husband descends from one Samuel Surrency b. July 1750 - 53. There
are several notes as to where he was born being Penn or SC and married
Eliz. Stafford in 1789(SC).
The parents of Samuel were either Samuel Esq. or Jacob (possibly a
brother) being b. abt. 1700 in Wales and emmigrated to the New World
living in New Castle Co. Penn. NOW part of DEl.
If anyone is researching this family name we would love to compare notes.

think that different related families could have any of these names. We
now think that Levi or Levy came first into Pa went to Savannah, Ga and
ended up in Charleston, SC. We also believe at one time he may have been
of the Jewish faith. We have some information which says he came from
the Netherlands and born in 1777 in Amsterdam. He could have been
married more than once. Our connection is his wife Elizabeth M. who he
married in Charleston, SC. We know he died April 10, 1830. Does anyone
