Delaware Co.

"Our County by townships, entry of public lands, reminiscences of pioneer life, etc with original poems by John Ellis." Neely Print Co., 1899. This book is not indexed (I plan to make an index of my own soon, though). In order for me to find your ancestor, I would need to know which township in Delaware Co, they resided. This book lists all parcels of land, who bought them and for how much. If the land was later sold to someone else before publication of this book, that name is listed as well. There are old plat maps of each township with many pioneer stories about how the towns were formed and the men that did it. In each chapter is an original poem about each township. The land mass is described i.e. hilly, farmland, flat, etc., with the names and dates of each pioneer family and how they came to settle in Delaware Co, IN. Very interesting for historical value and understanding what our ancestors had to go through to settle on their land. N6
