It has chapters on the following: the lynching of Hans Jakob Olson, Sigbørn Obstfelder and Sondre Norheim. It also has an index for volumes 1 through 29. GF1

"Slekten Ellingsen." Bind I & II. Charles Ellingsen, Ellingsen-boken, 1990. Descendants of Elling CHRISTOPHERSEN, born 1676, and Karen JENSDATTER, including many up to date of publication. Many are in United States and other countries today, as well as Norway. There are over 11,000 names, and it is indexed. EAS

"The Sloopers..Their Ancestry and Posterity." J. Hart Rosdail Photo Press Inc. Broadview, Il. 1961. "The story of the people on the Norwegian Mayflower-The Sloop, 'Restoration.'" A comprehensive history of the 52 "sloopers" who arrived in New York in 1825 thus becoming the first Norwegians of the modern era to immigrate to America. The book contains lengthy family histories with genealogies dating back to the 14th. century, several thousand names and addresses of "slooper" descendants, plus a wealth of other important historical information relating to those who “paved the way” for all later day Norwegian immigrants. (668 pages) Published in cooperation with the Norwegian Slooper Society of America. This book is focused on the 52 Norwegians who immigrated to America in 1825 and settled in upstate New York and then the Fox River Valley in Illinois. It contains several thousand names w/addresses of descendants of those first Norwegians. Since the book was published in 1961, all individuals listed are from the the 40's and 50's. JK3

Bygdeboks Volumes 1, 2, and 3 for Ullensaker Jessheim Trykkeri: 1927, 1949 and 1951. These are 3 farm books for the area of Ullensaker. Churches in this area are Ullensaker, Hovind, Furuset and Mogreina. Farm names are listed in table of contents, but all persons mentioned in the books are not indexed. Sometimes it takes some searching to find individuals. I have limited skill in reading Norwegian, but can understand enough to know who wed who, who moved where, birth and death dates, etc. I will do my best to find the names of thoses for whom you are searching. "Hol Bygdebøker I-VIII." Reinton & Reinton. As stated, the 8 volumes provide name and farm histories of individuals/families in Norwegian; listed after each farm are those who left Norway for America. When researching names in Norway, remember: Individuals may/may not be listed by their farm or village name; Married women kept their father's first name plus "datter" (for eg. Johan Anderson's daughter could be Inge Johansdatter/ Johanson/Johnsdatter, etc., depending upon the time period; if the father was in the military, she could use his military surname, the patriachal surname, or as stated above. The VIII volume is listed by farm name and/or individual alphabetical. Requests should include full name, exact or approximate birth year, possible farm names. M19

"Mjølid og Mjølid-Slekta." Rolv Halgrim Mjølid, 1963. Lists owners of the Mjølid farm near Bromma in Hallingdal from 1680. It also traces the descendants from this farm, most of whom emigrated to the United States and Canada. Some of the surnames covered are: Sevre, Svenkerud, Heje, Kleven, Myli, Sundby and Moline. GF1
