DAR Scholarships

The Aby Richards Memorial Scholarship was established in 1979 to honor Mrs. Aby Richards, who served as Regent of the Antelope Valley Chapter during the years 1970-1974. Candidates for this scholarship must be United States citizens and outstanding students in the field of Nursing at Antelope Valley College.  No affiliation or relationship to the Daughters of the American Revolution is required for qualification. All applicants are judged on the basis of academic excellence, commitment to field of study, and financial need.  The Antelope Valley Chapter awards this $250 scholarship to one student per year.

All applicants must obtain a letter of sponsorship from a local DAR chapter.  If you are a resident of the Antelope Valley or surrounding areas, please contact the Chapter Regent for application information.  If you reside elsewhere in California, please contact the State Chairman, who will refer you to a chapter in your area.  If you are not a California resident, please click here for a list of chapters in the United States and Overseas.
