Speakers with expertise in various aspects of genealogy present programs of interest at monthly meetings. Workshops are taught by known lecturers, authors and researchers. , in the Turrentine Room of the Escondido Public Library at 239 South Kalmia St, Escondido, CA 92025. Due to the new scheduling and room renting policies of the Escondido Public Library for 2017 our meeting schedule will be not as regular. The meetings are free and open to the public. January 7, 2017 updated "Redd-Hinrichs Project & creating a genealogy CD" by Denise & Rick Bova. Denise & Rick are members of EGS. Denise will talk about what we are doing with the genealogy material that was donated to EGS by the Hinrich family. Rick will present how he has created a CD for publishing a family genealogy using the Redd-Hinrich genealogy data. At the Turrentine Room of the Escondido Public Library.    Map

April 1st Due to scheduling issues with the Escondido Public Library, our March meeting will be 1 week later on the first Saturday in April.

"More Than Name and Dates: A family history via involvement in Colonial local militia" by Steve Moseley. Steve is a EGS member who will show us a Massachusetts family that became heavily involved in Colonial and Revolutionary history through the local militia. November 25, 2017 Elections, Crafts, Books and Bake Sale, Roundtable discussion among members and guests. It is not too soon to start working on your special craft that the Society can sell. Come and bring a craft, food or book to sell to other and raise funds for the club. Christmas Potluck Party. Location to be determined. Please bring yourself, a family member, a friend, or another member along with a side dish or dessert to share that serves 12 people. Ham, drinks and table service will be provided. We will open the doors at 4:00 pm and serving dinner about 4:30pm. You can feel free to leave or linger as long as you like.
