The Elizabeth Hill Mills Tent #88 of Orange, California was instituted on August 26, 2006 at the First Advent Church of Tustin. On that day 17 members were initiated into membership and two members transferred from another tent. The Orange County Register printed an article about our Tent in the following morning's paper: "Descendants Take Pride in Their Families' Service" We welcome new members who wish to perpetuate the memory and aspirations of their Civil War ancestor through historical projects such as collecting and preserving Civil War artifacts and mementos; commemorating and preserving Civil War monuments throughout the country and participating in patriotic and Memorial Day ceremonies. Those who wish to help document and preserve Civil War burial sites and monuments and to help promote interest in Civil War history and to preserve the history of the Grand Army of the Republic, this is the organization for you.
